Tourmaline is a cyclosilicate or a boron silicate mineral available in variety of colors because of the presence of other elements such as aluminum, potassium, manganese, sodium & lithium. It is a semi precious gemstone and can be associated with more than one planet based on its color.

Green Tourmaline: It is used for Heart Chakra in the chakra healing system. It is beneficial to wear in case of chronic fatigue, any heart related problems or any ailments related to the immunity system.
Black Tourmaline: It is used as a protection from negative energies. It is also used for Base or Root Chakra in the Chakra healing system. It is also believed to have powers to lower the problems related to our reflex points of the body like - ankles, knees, feet, lower back, etc.

How to wear (Best procedure to wear):
On the selected day & time to wear your Tourmaline, take your ring or pendant studded with the Tourmaline and place it in a clean and empty bowl.
Now, add Panchadravyas (Five Sacred Elements) in the following pattern one by one to the bowl – Starting with: GANGA JAL (Holy Water), TULSI LEAVES (Basil leaves), MILK, HONEY & GHEE (Butter). Mix them together in the bowl with your finger and keep the bowl in front of you.
Close your eyes and recite the mantra for your favorite lord (Ishta Deva) for about 5 to 10 minutes. Pray to him/her to provide you blessings and positive results from the gemstone.
Open your eyes and take the ring out of the bowl. Dip it in another bowl of clean water and soak it with a cotton cloth piece and wear it.
Note: Please do not throw the mixture of Panchadravya in dump. Rather, pour it in a flowerpot or Plant pot as this mixture is considered a good fertilizer too.
